With the big release of twenty six New Seiko 5 Sports model watches last summer, the Seiko 5 Sports line continues to grow and its steadily becoming one of the most popular line of watches from Seiko.

Recently, the New Seiko 5 Sports line has introduced another limited edition model that is definitely worth mentioning. Seiko has teamed up with Brian May, a legendary guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Queen, one of the most celebrated rock bands with a limited edition of 9000 pieces from the Seiko 5 Sports line, SRPE83 “The Red Special”.

The watch and the specifications itself remains as a Seiko 5 Sports model, but its the colors and designs used on the SRPE83, that was inspired by Brian’s hand made guitar that he and his father made back in the early sixties.
The dial has the same red and black color scheme as the “Red Special”, and it features a delicate wood-like pattern like the body of the guitar. It’s not coincidental that Seiko decided to team up with Brian for the “The Red Special”.

Its because Brian has been a fan of Seiko ever since he and the band visited Japan for the very first time that he purchased his first Seiko quartz powered watch, Seiko 7548-7000 model.

Flipping the watch over, you will see a clear case back, along with Brian’s signature, “Limited Edition”, as well as a unique serial number printed on it.
